Amazon’s Kindle books overtake paperbacks

On Thursday, Amazon announced that since Jan 1. customers have been buying 115 kindle books to every 100 paperback books. Last July, Amazon had announced that Kindle books were outselling Hardcover books and now paperbacks have fallen back too.

RIM’s Playbook to run Android Apps?

Crazy rumor floating around today that RIM is seriously considering Playbook users to install and run Android Apps.

From Boy Genius Report:

“Here is the big news: we have been told RIM is very much considering the Dalvik virtual machine, and we ultimately expect the company to chose Dalvik. If that sounds familiar to you, it’s because it’s the same VM that the Android OS uses, and it would allow RIM’s PlayBook and other QNX devices to run just about any application built for the Android platform.”

Samsung launches the Galaxy tab

Samsung has announced the launch for their new tablet, the Galaxy Tab. The Galaxy Tab runs on Android Operating System 2.2 and features a 7” TFT-LCD display that lets the user watch films, view pictures, read e-books and share documents. On the Tablet, you will find the ‘Readers Hub’ application for books, ‘Media Hub’ for movies and ‘Music Hub’ for, you guessed it, music.

The Galaxy Tab is powered by a Cortex A8 1.0GHz application processor and offers 3G HSPA connectivity, 802.11n Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth® 3.0.

51% of shoppers use mobile phone before buying

Motorola has conducted a survey across 11 countries and found that 51% of shoppers used their mobile phones to check products before buying them.  Shoppers’ used their mobile phones for in-store activities such as comparison shopping and getting peer feedback, product information and coupons.
